The Assault on Free Speech, Public Assembly, and Dissent: A National Lawyers Guild Report on Government Violations of First Amendment Rights in the Un
This report surveys federal and local police actions in the United States during the period 1999-2004 involving lawful public expressions of dissent and free speech. All of the police activities cited are from firsthand experience of the National Lawyers Guild, the oldest human rights organization in the country. The conclusion of this survey is that rather than protecting First Amendment rights of United States citizens and prosecuting police abuses as it ought to do, the Justice Department under Attorney General John Ashcroft has systematically encouraged these abuses and acted as a cheerleader for government officals using excessive force and abusing their athority against citizens engaged in free speech.

Snitch Newsweekly - Snitch is a free, alternative weekly newspaper published in parts of the United States and covering crime and police news. Perhaps the most notable feature is the ZIP Code Crime Watch, which gives brief, usually "smart aleck" commentary on literally hundreds of items in the weekly police blotter, broken down conveniently by ZIP Codes, along with crime totals for the respective areas.

Open spectrum - Open spectrum (also known as free spectrum) is a movement to get the government to provide more unlicensed spectrum, radio frequency spectrum that is available for use by all. Proponents of the "commons model" of open spectrum advocate a future where all the spectrum is shared, using Internet protocols to communicate with each other, and smart devices to find the most effective energy level, frequency, and mechanism.
